Week 9: What's the Scope?
As we move into week 9, it was important for us to choose our scope. Will we work nationally or locally? This was the topic of conversation throughout most of the week. Will we effectively be able to produce a communication audit for our client with the allotment of time we have if we choose to go nationally? This week was a lot of questioning. We heard from members of the class that were both for and against using a national scope. As we debated back and forth, we ultimately decided that we would do whatever our client wanted, because we work for them.
As you choose your scope you should keep these things in mind:
-
Don’t bite off more than you can chew- Make sure the parameters and goals you set for yourself or your organization are attainable.
-
Keep in mind everyone’s feelings- It is important to take in account everyone’s feelings who will be working on the project including your teammates and the client.
-
Be proactive- Get started on projects as soon as they arise so that way if you do choose a bigger scope it will be less intimidating.
-
Be honest- If you do not feel like you can accomplish this work load then be straight forward. It is important that you produce quality research.
At Clover Connection Consulting we are constantly learning and growing together. Always remember that questions are good, and debates are healthy.
