Week 6: Reflecting on Presentations

It has been a busy week at Clover Connection Consulting! Our sales team has been presenting our communication audit services to many different companies. These companies were involved in very different industries. Our sales team at Clover Connection Consulting had to work very hard to prepare for these presentations. Our team follows the four step process of research, plan, communicate, and evaluate for everything we can. This was the obvious method when it came to pitching an idea to a potential client. Keep reading to learn more about using the four step process to pitch to a client.

Research

First, we had to research the companies that met the requirements of our communication audit. Our team looked for things like locations of the business, number of employees, and reviews of the companies. Also, we had to research the best ways to contact certain businesses. Once this was completed, we set up presentations with several different companies.

Plan

After setting up presentation, the sales team had to get together in order to fine tune our presentation and set goals. This is the time to make any adjustments that may be client specific. Also, this is when you practice, practice, practice your pitch. Some companies may give you unlimited time to present your services and others may squeeze you in a 30 minute slot in between business meetings. It is important to have a game plan and a backup plan.

Communicate

Now it is time to pitch your services or ideas! The communicate step is essential. In the presentations, we are communicating our services and selling our philosophy to the client. It is important to use as much of the information gathered in the research and plan steps to communicate your message effectively to the client.

Evaluate

The final step is to evaluate the goals set in the planning process. Did you meet or even exceed these goals? This is also the time to adjust your plan in order to communicate more effectively in the next presentation. After all, “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein
