Reflection
It is my honor to be the CEO of Clover Connection Consulting. I am pleased with the way ten perfect strangers came together to create much more than an audit book. CCC has molded us into the leaders that will enhance the world. CCC has taught us how to solve issues with communication instead of violence. We did not have a typical Problems in PR experience, in fact everything that could go wrong in a semester, did. In the midst of chaos, the dedication from the CCC team was unwavering. I am humbled to know I had the support of 9 amazing leaders willing to back me up whenever I needed it. I feel this blog post should be about the 9 amazing leaders, who played a significant role in shaping me as a leader.
Grace- Someone on the feedback once said that you are young, but you seem to have your life together. I know that you said you did not feel that way, and that is okay. I want to reassure you that you do have it together. You are bright, caring, strong, and passionate. You may not have everything figured out in this moment, but I promise you will. I look up to you as a leader and a friend. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.
Iman- Your feedback and your out-of-the-box thinking is something is something I have grown to appreciate in our meetings. You always seem to have a different perspective or a different way of accomplishing tasks. You have a wonderful mind, and I am very proud of the way you stepped up as a leader in class. I know this semester was chaotic, but you handled yourself very well. I am grateful to know you, and I am expecting great things from you.
Paul-It is hard to take criticism, but you handled yourself very well in the midst of it all. You have amazing life experience and I think you have a great understanding of the world. I am proud of you for stepping up to be a leader in our class. I hope you had a great experience. Please remember to have confidence in everything you do. You are smart and let that carry you.
Kirsten- You truly grew as a leader this semester. I want you to reflect on the first day of class and look at where you are now. You put together a team to write a book. You dedicate so much time and effort to this project. Kirsten, please remember to have confidence in your leadership. You are a fantastic role model. You killed it this semester, and I hope you feel as proud of yourself as I am of you!
Brionna- You were an amazing leader to the social media team. I have watched you grow so much this semester and I am so unbelievably proud of you. You have such a creative mind and it is going to take you far. Every role you took on this semester you rocked, and I have no doubt that you will be a fantastic communications practitioner. Do not ever let anyone dull your creativity.
Allison- You did a great job as social media chair. I know you did not expect to be in Problems in PR, but you handled yourself well. You did an amazing job creating the website and managing our social media accounts. I can see a future in social media for you. You made significant contributions to our company, and I hope you feel proud of your hard work.
Akela- Even though you were supposed to only be a part of the social media team, you stepped up to help everyone out with the research. You often were my voice of reason during the meetings. You provided me with a different perspective and it was much appreciated. You are a great leader Akela and you are very mature. I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow with you!
Christina- You are the definition of leader in my book. You are passionate about your work and your dedication is such an endearing quality. I am so excited to see where life takes you! Please remember your strength, grace, and ability to brighten anyone’s day. I am honored to know you!
Marie- You are smart and dedicated. You started this semester eager to take on a new leadership role, and it was awesome watching you grow in your position. You are empathic and that is a hard skill to master. I admire the way that you are able to meet people where they are. You will go far without a doubt.
Deanna- I do not feel like I can accurately sum up the tools you have given me this semester. I am so thankful for the confidence and strength you helped me find in myself. I can never thank you enough for never doubting my ability as a leader. I started this class with you being my favorite professor and now I am ending it with you being one of my most important mentors. Thank you.
I promise that this is the end of the sappy post. I just thought you should see the Clovers through my eyes. Every single of one of these leaders has shaped me in some way, and I am forever grateful to have shared this experience with them.
