Week 5: Mission Find a Client…….ASAP

It is week five and we’ve made it this far. A lot has happened in these past four weeks and a lot still needs to be done in the weeks to come! Mission find a client is similar to a rollercoaster that has two big drops. The entire process of finding a client is comparable to when you’re inching up to the top of a big drop.  You’re scared and you’re nervous, you know you will be fine, this ride has been ridden before but at the same time in the back of your mind you know it’s daring. You’re anxious to get it over with but at the same time you’re scared to get the top because you know once you begin to drop that’s when the real whirlwind begins. My friends, we are at the top of a roller coaster named Problems in PR. We have been gearing and inching up to the top for these past four weeks and now as we are on the brink of finding a client, the real fun is about to begin! I have faith that we can make it through this ride and have a great learning experience while doing it. As Clover Connection Consulting steps into week 5, we will be preparing for presentations and pitching to potential clients. It’s important to keep up the good work and momentum! Listed below are a few things to keep in mind as we pitch to potential clients and also helpful tips for others who are looking to start a new endeavor.

  • STAY ORGANIZED

At this point in the process time is of the essence! Organization is key to managing your time as well as keeping a clear mind on the tasks you need to get done. Keep a planner, journal, make a “to do list”, or even post sticky notes around your room. It’s about whatever method works for you that you find most effective, but if you aren’t meeting deadlines, doing homework, or accomplishing your weekly goals chances are your method isn’t operative. Go back to the drawing board.

  • BE ACCOUNTABLE

Most people who don’t enjoy group work are the people who end up having to do the work of other members. Here at Clover Connection Consulting, we are a team. When one person doesn’t do their job it affects everyone. We must be accountable for what we do and don’t do and speak up when there is something that we CAN’T do. We are all here to help each other.

  • COMMUNICATE

I don’t think I need to elaborate much here because as we all know how important and imperative communication is. However, communication is a process and can always be improved so linked is a great article on effective communication.  Read it and weep. A great point made in the article is, “understand that there is no such thing as too much communication”.

  • KEEP A GOOD ATTITUDE
"For success, attitude is equally as important as ability."
